Come take a trip through the tough neighborhoods of Detroit City. The home of D12, Proof, Xzibit, Big Herk, Rock Bottom, Trick-Trick, Esham, D-12, Royce Da 5’9″, J-Dilla, Chedda Boyz, Street Lords and more, and learn where the anger and grim dark mentality emerges from. Detroit is known as the city of overkill, it shows in our fashion, talent, mentality, and unfortunately our violence. These unique values lie apathetic in the heart of a Detroiter, as you’ll soon learn in this documentary. Surviving the streets only scratches the surface of this ongoing fight for life. From the Grimey Eastside to the Gritty Westside we reveal some of the only outlets for our urban youth, as they fight a war everyday unlike any other fight. In The D chronicles the relentless efforts of a literal fight for survival in the true gritty streets of Detroit. The struggles are true, the stories are real and the fight is continuous. “8 Mile” was the fairy tale, “In The D” is the scary tale. Come take a ride with us, in the gritty streets of the “D”! www.todaysbeats.com

Compton vs. Detroit?
South Central Los Angeles vs. Detroit?
East Los Angeles vs. Detroit?
PUT THEM ALTOGETHER AND THEY STILL WILL GET WIPED BY D-TOWN UTTERLY THE KING OF VIOLENCE.
SCARY …………………….. Detroit set the precedents for nearly every criminal facet imaginable and they’re still owning the worst most violent city in the U.S.

For the most part, it’s soooo tough here in the D and it’s basically because we have no support from any outsource for instance the entertainment industry, the government, the movie industry etc. It causes hardship and frustration which of course births hopelessness and callousness and those who are around these types of individuals feel the pain and catches the end result of our frustrations.

I produced this movie some time back. It was bad then it’s even worst now. Our intent was not to glorify the madness but just let the world know whats going on here “In the D”. A lot of the people that was interviewed in this movie is now dead. And just recently my own brother was just shot in the head for his Mercedes Benz in the hood on the west side of Detroit for no reason but simply because of the jealous hearten strangers that were around him at the time.

Sad tragedy is that on average 1 out of 8 teens in Detroit reportedly have some a sexually transmitted disease. Such a tragedy for kids that haven’t really begun to live yet but think they are ready. The thug life never has been and never will be the answer. Add to that, so many innocent babies from unwed teen girls in most cases have no positive, educated father figure to look up to. Tragic that this is exactly what Dr. King and Malcolm X did not want to happen. We’re in serious, trouble!
